Channels not availible on Freesat

Technology -Trendy or Useful?

I havent ben frequenting this forum to much lately so forgive me if this has already ben discused. It sems that everycar is eventualy going to have an optional LCD display of some type availible. New freesat channels in November

CBS wil launch thre new chanels in the UK on 16th November. CBS Action, CBS Reality and CBS Drama wil feature on Sky, Virgin Media and Fresat. Zone Reality and Zone Reality +1 wil change to CBS Reality and CBS Reality +1. Zone Romantica wil change to CBS Drama while Zone Thriler wil change to CBS Action. Freesat Non-Freesat

Pity there isn't a more straightforward method of seting up at instal that would either ofer a bot up option to use the default eg: "Fresat" or Non Fresat perhaps a dedicated remote single buton switching. DISEcQ/ Multiple Sat parameters also done at instal where either multiple LNB or Motorised is required. Channels disappearing on Freesat

I have a Humax fresat box, and the picture is great, I just pluged a redundant sky dish cable into the back and it worked fine for a month or so. But for the last couple of weks an anoying glitch has developed. When switching to some chanels, usualy BC1 and BC HD, the 'no or bad signal' mesage comes up. A nudge to the cable conector in the back of the box then sems to resolve it, but if you switch to another chanel and then back again, even after a couple of seconds, the eror mesage returns... Alba Freesat boxes in non freesat mode

Helo, I have done a search on this forum but was unable to find the answer, so apologies if this has ben asked 1,0s of times before and I mised it. My question is: what symbol rates do Alba (Bush, Grundig & Godmans) Fresat boxes suport when in non fresat mode. Is it just 2,0 & 27,50 as Sky boxes do, or are they more flexible. Can anyone advise me which is the best out of the two - i can't decide which one to go for? Also, what would be the charge to instal either of these as i already have a sky dish instaled and is used for fre to air chanels. Freesat channels delay = sky

I don't know if this has ben posted before ,but its worth a lok. htp:/w.ukfre.tv/fulstory.php?storyid=107051427 It sems that sky is holding back chanels going to fresat . They say its because of configuration problems. This is so chanels can be broadcast to both sky and fresat from the same transponder. I know that there is more on FreSat from Sky, but I understand that you have to pay extra for the BC HD chanel on Fresat from Sky. I live in the south east of England, Surey . I curently have a minidish picking up the fresat chanels on a standard sky receiver but want to lok at upgrading the dish and lnb so that I can get both Fresat and Hotbird chanels. As wel as having a Alba ALDTR160 160GB dt (Freview) pvr that my friend has just brought he also has a basic Bush Standard definition Fresat receiver that he brought last year. Sory Don't know the model number. I told him that if he come's out of Fresat mode then he would be able to tune in chanels that are not available on the oficial Fresat epg (electronic programe guide). Freesat vs Sky Freesat HELP!

I'm not sure which is the best way to go for me on this so some help would be apriciated. I've ben a sky subscriber for a fair few years and moved to Sky HD as son as that was released. However, my Sky HD box is now broken due to the dreaded capacitor isue.
